The project was initiated with seed funding from GLAADH (Globalising Art Architecture and Design History) by staff in the History of Art Departments at Glasgow, St Andrews and Aberdeen universities. The site was developed by Brian Aitken and is hosted at Glasgow University by the Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute (HATII).
The site content is steadily expanding and currently reflects the research interests of the four key contributors whose initials appear at the end of the relevant entries:
Material relating to Lili Markus and Hungarian ceramics forms part of Juliet Kinchin's larger research project 'Pottery, Politics and Identity: Three Hungarian Ceramists and a Central European Diaspora' supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (Project No. AH/E000967/1).
